Mayor Gerald Tremblay is throwing a challenge out to designers: conceive a new design for Montreal bus shelters. Read on…

The design must essentially include the advertising panel, the bench, and a solar panel which would power said shelter. Tremblay’s reasoning behind the contest is to further advance his want for Montreal to become UNESCO’s design hub.

The contest will be divided into 2 parts. The first part will consist of pre-qualifiers among which 5 qualifiers will be chosen by a jury to move on.

The 5 contestants will then have to pitch their ideas and designs. The chosen candidate will then be matched with a company who will be chosen through bids to actually develop the new design.
