Montreal has long had a reputation for encouraging comedy acts, due in large part to Gilbert Rozon’s Just For Laughs Festival. This year however, there’s something new out there for comedy aficionados. Read on…

It’s called the Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival. Modeled after similar festivals across North America, the Montreal Sketch Fest for some is a long-awaited addition to Montreal’s 20 year sketch scene. So far it seems organizers couldn’t have hit the nail on the head any harder! How so? Well, not only is word spreading like wildfire but the venue chosen is none other than the very intimate yet very fitting Theatre Ste-Catherine on Ste-Catherine East between St-Laurent and Sanguinet. (Insert tangent here: Said venue started in 2004, very cool! Go check out a show there if you get a chance.)

The 1st ever Montreal Sketch Fest runs from May 18th to May 21st. All the info you need is up at .
