After having completed a short documentary on contemporary dance this past year (see below), I must admit that I have become somewhat intrigued, if not enthralled, with this form of art that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. The whole point of FTA is to be “a vehicle for dialogue between cultures and generations” bringing together not only contemporary dance but also contemporary theatre. Choreographers, artists, and directors are not only invited to break new grounds but are also encouraged to create an interaction process. So, it’s not uncommon for the FTA to have workshops, debates and roundtables. You’ll also find some extra events such as films and public readings.
