This weekend, for a third consecutive year, Montreal will be hosting “Design Montreal”. Montrealers are essentially invited to take a (free of charge) behind-the-scenes look at the work and spaces behind everything to do with design in Montreal. Be it architechture, graphic design, interior design, fashion design, industrial design, or urbanism. Really, the range is quite broad.

This year, youngsters starting as young as 10 years old will also have a variety of activities and exhibits catered to them with the hopes that they might someday choose an education or career path in a design field.

The events of Saturday, May 2nd will be spread across the following neighbourhoods: Westmount, Cote-des-Neiges, St. Henri, Downtown, Quartier Latin, The Village, HOMA, and Old Montreal. Sunday’s programming will be spread around the Plateau, Outremont, the Mile End, Rosemount/Petite-Patrie and Villeray.

Design Montreal, for those of you who are wondering is actually the offspring of the former “Commerce Design Montreal” competition which was held for 10 years prior to Design Montreal.
